Dealing with Navicular, Founder, Laminitis, Collapsed Heels, Underrun Heels, Contracted Heels/Feet, Sheer Walls, 'Club Feet', or other "Foot Problems" ? Most of these problems are primarily caused by improper trimming and equine management practices. We have successfully resolved these conditions in horses many times over. Corky & Cindy Brown work as a husband and wife team for most horse related services. You get the experience of two individuals dedicated to the best care for your horse. Corky got his start learning at the age of 14 to shoe horses from good old time cowboys who hadn't forgot how the equine hoof should look and function. He has successfully resolved most hoof problems through a natural trim either barefoot or using progressive shoeing techniques. In 1998, Corky studied under Lyle E. "Bergy" Bergeleen and became a Hooftalk Certified Hoof Care Technician after over 20 years of prior hoof care experience. He has studied and observed the results of many of the popular hoof care techniques and continues to add to his 'tool belt' resources and knowledge for optimally helping each horse. Corky also provides shoeing & trimming training courses in helping horse owner's help themselves. Cindy has been intensely studying horse's hooves for nearly 8 years. She had a mare diagnosed with prior laminitis issues that lead her into many modalities including natural hoof care. Cindy is an avid student of the horse and extremely observant and able to see the whole picture. As the wife of a farrier she saw many problems that did not seem to be understood by the mainstream farrier and vet community. She eventually learned to trim herself under Martha Olivo (Ex-farrier, Clinician, founder of United Horsemanship and Strasser Certified Hoof Care Specialist) and Sabine Kells (Strasser Certified Hoof Care Specialist) and has received high praise from hoof care specialist such as Bergy Bergeleen, Martha Olivo and Sabine Kells, and horse trainer and equine health consultant, Dr. Regan Golob, for her eye and mind for the hoof and the quality of her work. She has studied and/or been trained using Lyle E. "Bergy" Bergeleen, Dr. Strasser, Jaime Jackson and other hoof care methods. Cindy's focus for the last couple of years has been supporting barefoot horses. She has supported individuals with trimming, hoof care seminars, trimming lessons and long distance photo consultations. From both Corky & Cindy you receive their understanding of these philosophies along with their combined years of experience and observations of horses and hooves. They use what they have learned to support each horse, their horse owner and circumstances as individuals. Even though we believe there is a standard parameter on what constitues a healthy hoof, we also understand each horse and owner's circumstances are unique, so the approach to reach the healthy hoof may vary for each individual. We have consistently discovered there are many roads to the same location. Some are just more effective and efficient than others. :) |
